About Us

Little Acorns Nursery is a registered charity and was first formed in 1969 by a small group of parent/carers who wanted to provide play facilities for their children.

Since then we have continued to respond to the needs of our community and we now operate from 9.00am - 3.00pm Monday - Friday. 

This has proved very popular and we continue to go from strength to strength.

The committee are responsible for the management of the nursery and we actively encourage everyone to take part. They tend to be made up of parent/carers of children currently attending the group. The committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting and serves for a minimum of 1 year.

They are responsible for ensuring that registration requirements are met and for fundraising events; plus the employment of Staff, Legislation (i.e. Health & Safety, Disability & Discrimination Act, etc.) and any other matters which may arise.

We are constantly looking for volunteers to join the committee as it is a legal requirement of our charitable registration and Little Acorns would be under threat of closure without one.

We ask that you please take an active interest in your child's development and volunteer to serve on the committee so that together we can ensure the group continues to provide quality play provision for many years to come.
